The Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce works hard every day to promote individual businesses, industry sectors, and the overall regional economy. The local chamber takes multitasking to a new level.

Since 2013, the chamber has spearheaded approximately 100 economic development projects. These have resulted in an estimated $680 million in capital investments. During the same time period, some 5,000 new jobs have been added in the region.

The chamber consistently leads the state in economic development announcements. Our community has taken on an increasingly more visible role in economic expansion. All of this has been undertaken while not taking any taxpayer dollars to operate, proudly being the only chamber in Arkansas enjoying that distinction.

As a non-profit organization, the chamber operates on two revenue streams. Members support the chamber via annual dues, and additional support comes from revenue generated by events.

The chamber takes on tough issues and it is an advocate for businesses of all sizes. Decisions made by legislators can have a direct impact on the livelihood of area entrepreneurs and business people. We strive to help protect the principles of free enterprise and help ensure that businesses are being treated fairly at every level.

Promotional services

Chamber members enjoy many opportunities to promote and grow their businesses. Networking events provide an excellent way to cultivate and maintain valuable business prospects and relationships. Many of these on-going events provide professional development and resource information for members.

Members also have access to web-based marketing for products and services that they provide. Businesses can use the chamber’s website to post special offers, events and job openings. This is a quick and efficient way to market member businesses and communicate with thousands of people with just a few clicks.

Additional ways to bring awareness to businesses include chamber hosting of ribbon cuttings, ground breakings and anniversary celebrations. These ceremonies attract attention, introduce member businesses and employees, and offer opportunities to explain services and products. In addition, pictures of these types of events are regularly sent to the Times Record and posted on social media.

The chamber promotes quality growth that supports existing operations and adds new businesses, jobs and customers to the region. This strengthens the community and makes it a better place to work and live.
